Falkland Cricket Club leapt up four places to fourth in Division 1 of the Thames Valley Cricket League after a dominant win against Finchampstead 2nds on Saturday.
Saad Altaf collected an impressive seven wickets as visitors Finchampstead were dismissed for just 95, with Falkland taking less than 30 overs to get their opponents all out.
They did lose five wickets themselves when they stepped up to bat, but the win was never in doubt as Falkland won by five wickets.
Falkland won the toss and let Finchampstead bat first, and Altaf was quickly able to get his first wicket as Sam Jenkins was bowled for eight.
It was a bit more troublesome getting rid of Dylan Augustus, although he only hit nine off his 47 balls before being caught.
Charlie Dale then caught Josh Lincoln off his own bowling, while top-scorer Simon Bell was next to go for 23, leaving Finchampstead on 63-4.
Things went downhill from there for Finchampstead, with Altaf responsible for the next two wickets of Ed Oliver (5) and Tommie Predgen (10).
Falkland’s Khalid Zafar Malik got two wickets of his own as Andy Lazenbury and James Woodford were both caught, putting the visitors on 95-8.
And the final two wickets went in quick succession as Max Uttley was caught for nine, before his replacement Nick West lasted just one ball as Altaf bowled him.
Falkland may not have been feeling too much pressure to chase down Finchampstead’s target, but they did lose three wickets early into their innings.
Paul Jenkins (10), James Bird (8) and Will Langmead (0) were all caught having faced just 28 balls between them, putting Falkland on 21-3 at that stage.
However Danny Williams put in a controlled performance as he notched up 40 not out to edge the home side nearer to victory.
Two more wickets would fall as Jim Ettridge (16) went for lbw and Daminda Kolugula (7) was caught, but Malik (6, not out) helped to get Falkland over the winning line.
Falkland jumped up the standings following the result to sit on 118 points, with Wokingham still leading the way on 146.
And it is Wokingham who are Falkland’s opponents in their next game on Saturday.
