Staff at Vodafone’s headquarters in Newbury have raised almost £800 for a local cancer charity after hosting an all-day cake sale.
The human resources team raised £436, with Vodafone contributing £350 to bring the total to £786 for the Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust.
The trust provides bereavement counselling and therapy. The money raised will go towards its appeal to raise £4.5million to build a renal dialysis and cancer care unit at West Berkshire Hospital.
Vodafone HR team leader Michele Stevenson said: “We are thrilled to have raised so much money for the charity.
“Everyone made a huge effort and we had people coming from all the HQ buildings to support.”
Trust executive officer Helen Milroy said: “We are so grateful for the wonderful donation from the Vodafone team.
“It’s a fantastic amount and it was great to come down and meet everyone.”
