Arlington Arts Centre plays host to a tribute to the masters of classic blues rock, Hendrix and Cream.
Voodoo Room are a fresh and exciting powerful trio featuring some of the UK’s finest musicians. A true tribute band with a difference, their refreshingly energetic and unpretentious live show is not to be missed.
Voodoo Room deliver a full-on show that features favourite Hendrix and Cream hits, performed with an energy and virtuosity that transcends tribute band status.
The sheer musical ability of the band is a force to be reckoned with. This is definitively not a wig wearing, dress up, pantomime style tribute band – rather, it is simply great music performed by great players with real pedigree, you will struggle to tell the difference from the real thing.
Guitarist Peter Orr has been thrilling audiences across the UK and Europe for nearly three decades, mashing up classic riff-based rock anthems, with the style evocative of their time.
Drummer John Tonks is a leading session musician with superlative touring and recording credits, including such diverse luminaries as Massive Attack, The Streets and Steve Winwood.
Completing the line-up is Andy Tolman, who has played live bass for the likes of Ben E King and Rodriguez, whilst also fulfilling many a music enthusiast’s dream by participating in a recording session with legendary Beatles producer, George Martin.
On seeing the band live, the singer, Neneh Cherry, was sufficiently moved to sum up their appeal simply as “incredible musicians”.
Voodoo Room’s mission is to deliver the all-time great Cream and Hendrix numbers with a true passion and energy worthy of the classic masters.
Their show is beyond any tribute. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the thrill of this musical ride harking back to a live music experience of the 1960s.
Tickets for the show on June 9 are available at £14 either online at arlingtonarts.co.uk, or by calling the box office on 01635 244246.
