Cricket gets under way this weekend, with Newbury and Thatcham’s three clubs once again hoping for strong showings in the Thames Valley Cricket League.
Falkland return to Division One with an away tie at Marlow for their first competitive game of 2017 on Saturday.
They finished sixth in the table last season and will be looking to move closer to the top this time round after some mixed results in 2016.
Thatcham are in Division 2B, with a trip to Hampshire to face Aldershot for their season opener.
Last year they just avoided the relegation zone, finishing one place above to remain in the division for 2017.
Newbury start with a home match against Purley-on-Thames for their first match on Saturday in Division 3A.
They were third last year and will look to go one better this year and earn promotion up to 2B to join local rivals Thatcham.
