THE award-winning Ballet Cymru present Shakespeare’s magical play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at the Corn Exchange in Newbury on Saturday evening.
Enter a magical land of mayhem and confusion, where the Queen of the Fairies is arguing with her King, comical rude mechanicals are rehearsing for a play, and where four love struck mortals have their hearts confused by the mischievous fairy, Puck.
This funny and heart-warming dance adaptation of one of the Bard’s best known plays features vibrant classical choreography.
Artistic director Darius James has complemented Mendelssohn’s joyous score with intricate balletic storytelling, as well as beautiful costumes, set and video projection to bring the story wordlessly to life.
