Newbury Athletic Club picked up a remarkable 11 gold medals at the Berkshire Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
Trinity O’Connor kicked things off as she posted a new under-17 club record jump of 2.70m in the pole vault.
The throwers then produced a haul of medals, with Charlotte Payne winning in the hammer with a championship record throw of 51.57m, as well as picking up gold in the discus and a bronze in the shot.
Oliver Hewitt claimed three personal bests to take gold in the discus and shot and silver in the hammer, while Jamie Kuehnel took the senior men’s titles in all three disciplines.
On top of that, Helen Broadbridge won the senior women’s hammer and Izzy Fry the under-20s 1,500m with championship records, while Yaz Ryder also became a 1,500m county champion.
There was more success for the club at the Park House School 10k run on Sunday, with Matt Green winning the event.
His time of 35:34 saw him beat Team Kennet runner and former winner Simon Whatson by almost two minutes, with Newbury’s Stu Bosley in third.
