Tony Coventry is now a five-time winner of the senior championship at West Berks Golf Club after a round of 81 gave him the 2017 title.
He beat Degga Smith by one shot to regain the championship he first won in 2000, with Andy Robbins and Charles Dixon tied for third.
Tony is the only golfer to have won the title more than twice, and sits alongside just seven other multiple winners in the cup’s history.
Elsewhere, West Berks’ Joe Simpson qualified for the national final of the Bridgestone Chase Your Dream Trophy.
The 20-year-old scored a one-over 71 at Sonning Golf Club to reach the final, to be held at Woodhill Spa on August 14.
Joe then went on to win the July medal at West Berks, beating senior champion Tony Coventry by two shots, with Jay Kitching third.
In the team events, the West Berks Hillman Trophy side won 5-2 at Farnham Park to move into the quarter finals of the competition, where they will face either Newbury and Crookham or Fernhill.
The ladies’ team beat Caversham Heath 3-1 at home, while Phil George and Peter Hill won the Saturday stableford and midweek stableford respectively.
The mixed midweek competition was won by Margaret Sumner, Helen Bell and Derrick Perrin.
