Young volunteer Joe Seward has been given a prestigious national award for his efforts in helping out with the Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club.
Joe picked up the Junior Volunteer of the Year Award at the 2017 National Wheelchair Basketball Awards held in Loughborough on Saturday.
He was recognised for his assistance in offering first aid to the team, as well as arranging a zorb football fundraising event in March.
Peter Scoins, head of marketing for the Kings, was delighted. He said: “We’re immensely proud of Joe. It was an honour to nominate him for his hard work, and we would like to say a huge thank you.
“It’s always great to be able to highlight to our national governing body the great work of all our volunteers.”
Also nominated at the awards were Liam Barker for Junior Player of the Year, and Grant Barker for Development Coach of the Year.
