A London man who was caught in possession of heroin and crack cocaine when he was stopped and searched in Newbury has been jailed for five years.
Bradley O’Sullivan, 20, of Fallowfields Drive in Barnet, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court last Thursday.
He was caught when the car he was a passenger in was stopped on Bear Lane at around 12pm on August 30 last year.
When he was searched, police found 11 wraps of heroin and 17 of crack cocaine concealed on his person.
O’Sullivan was charged in January 17, and it comes after he had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine at Oxford Crown Court in June last year.
PC Chris Eaton from Newbury police station said: “This was a ‘county lines’ case, where London gangs travel to the home counties in order to sell drugs.
“This is the first of many cases to be heard at crown court this summer after last year’s success rate in arresting ‘county lines’ drug dealers.
“I hope this sentence sends out a message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs offences within the communities we serve, and we will always seek prosecution of those involved in their supply.”
