Pupils at a Newbury school have been learning about the importance of recycling as part of a visit from AWE’s environmental team.
Staff from AWE spoke to children at St John the Evangelist School in Old Newtown Road on the topic of ‘recycling and our world’.
It came as part of the school’s science week, with pupils learning about what types of waste can be recycled, where it goes and what happens to it afterwards.
St John’s science coordinator Ruth Wardrop said: “The children really enjoyed it and learnt so much, it really enriched their week.
“They learned about the cycle of life for waste and recycling and we had lots of excited comments from them afterwards – one year two pupil said it was the event she enjoyed the most during science week.”
