Speenhamland Primary School has joined the Newbury Academy Trust, it was announced this week.
The move was made official yesterday, and sees it join with Fir Tree School and Trinity School in the trust.
Speenhamland had previously been a feeder school to the trust and becomes an academy as a result, meaning it receives funding from the Department for Education rather than the local authority.
To mark the occasion, pupils took part in a balloon launch to celebrate the partnership.
Charlotte Wilson, executive headteacher of the trust, said: “I am delighted to welcome Speenhamland into our trust.
“The benefits of collaborative working are huge with opportunities for staff to share expertise and for all our students to work together to gain even better learning experiences, and really secure achievement and success for all.
“This is a brilliant day for all the staff and students.”
