A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a terrifying road rage incident near Hermitage last Saturday, February 11, in which a man rammed another driver.
At around 12.30pm, the victim was driving his black Land Rover Defender in Long Lane towards Hermitage when he was chased by a man driving a Suzuki.
The Suzuki then rammed the Land Rover from behind, causing damage to the vehicle, before it was driven off Marlston Road.
The victim turned around and found a second vehicle, a silver Mitsubishi pick-up truck, had blocked the road, and the Land Rover had to mount the kerb to get past.
He was then chased down Long Lane by the Mitsubishi, before a man and a woman got out and started shouting abuse.
The victim was not injured, and police believe he was known to the offenders.
PC David Burleigh, from Newbury police station, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim.
“We would really like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have any information which may assist with the investigation, including any possible dash-cam footage.”
The 19-year-old man, from Hermitage, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and criminal damage, and has been released on bail until April 29.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
