Thatcham Town returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp last night.
The Kingfishers went 2-0 up within the opening 20 minutes, with Shane Cooper-Clark scoring both on eight and 18 minutes.
Ed Major pulled one back just after half-time for the visitors to get them back into the match, but Thatcham held on to secure a much-needed victory.
It was Thatcham’s first win since beating Lydney Town 3-1 on January 14.
The result means that Thatcham are back up to fourth in the Hellenic Premier League with 54 points, but face a seven-point gap up to Flackwell Heath in third.
The Kingfishers have just six league games remaining this season, and travel to Highmoor Ibis in their next match this Saturday afternoon.
