Thatcham Town continued their unbeaten start to the season after following up their 1-0 win over Brimscombe and Thrupp on Saturday with a 3-0 victory against Woodley last night.
In Saturday’s game, Thatcham survived being a man down for the entirety of the second half to win away to Brimscombe and Thrupp.
The Kingfishers went ahead through a Shane Cooper-Clarke penalty 10 minutes into the match.
However approaching half-time Ekow Elliot was shown a straight red card, leaving Thatcham with a tough task on their hands after the break to hang on to their narrow lead.
The second half was a scrappy affair and although Brimscombe did come close on a couple of occasions, Thatcham held on to claim the three points.
Thatcham began yesterday’s match strongly, and after some early chances took the lead as Cooper-Clarke headed home Tom Browne’s cross.
They doubled their lead through Josh Helmore just before half-time, with Cooper-Clarke adding a third on 70 minutes to secure the win.
The Kingfishers are in FA Cup preliminary round action on Saturday away to Alresford Town.
